Vice President of Hindu Munnani unit assaulted, party members condemn the incident in Coimbatore

BJP National Women's Wing President Vanathi Srinivasan today visited VP Ramakrishnan at the Coimbatore Government Hospital.



Coimbatore: Ramakrishnan, Hindu Munnani's Vice President for Ukkadam area was attacked by an unidentified group yesterday night near the Sungam area in Podanur. The Podanur Police officials have filed a case on this incident.



Hearing the news, BJP's National Women's Wing President Vanathi Srinivasan today visited Ramakrishnan at the Coimbatore Government Hospital and inquired about his condition.



She later met with the press and said, "Similar to the attack on a Hindu Munnani member yesterday, there was another attack on a BJP member in the past week. Police officials have not captured anyone under suspicion. It has raised our concerns when a member who was actively involved in our campaigns is being attacked."

She also said that Hindu Munnani members and BJP members are going to meet with the District Collector and police department officials. "Such incidents will cause panic amongst the public, hence we request the officials to immediately take actions regarding it," Vanathi added.



Later, members of the Hindu Munnani party gathered in front of the Coimbatore District Collector's Office. 



To avoid any complications, police and army officers have been brought in for security there.



Kadeshwara Subramaniam, State President of the Hindu Munnani party met with the press and said, "Many planned to spark communal violence during Yogi Adityanath's visit to Coimbatore to support Vanathi Srinivasan, we have many video proofs regarding it. Such incidents must be curbed by the police officials immediately. The incident that happened yesterday was done intentionally and I request the police officials along with the intelligence department to take immediate actions."

Post the interview, Kadeshwara Subramaniam along with other Hindu Munnani members filed a complaint with the District Collector regarding the attack.
