Ramadan: TMMK president MH Jawahirullah requests TN government to extend the time limit for worship at mosques

Ramadan month worship last year affected due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

Coimbatore: In a press release issued by TamilNadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam President Prof MH Jawahirullah, he said "TamilNadu has issued various guidelines and restrictions to follow to contain the 2nd wave of Covid-19. Holy worship places will be permitted to function only till 8 pm from April 10th.

With the holy month of Ramadan to begin from 14th of this month, it will be impossible for muslims to come to the mosque for their night prayers. Last year we had a similar issue due to the Covid-19 lockdown which affected the night prayers of many.

So I kindly request the TamilNadu government to permit minority communities like us to have the prayer at mosques and to change the closing time from 8 pm to 10 pm." He said.
