2000 residents of two streets in Raja Boundary in Tirupur Corporation's Zone 1 laid seige to the First Zonal Office in Tirupur demanding basic amenities for their area.



Tirupur: residents of two streets in Raja Boundary in Tirupur Corporation's Zone 1 laid seige to the First Zonal Office in Tirupur demanding basic amenities for their area.

"We get supply of drinking water once in few days, there is unbearable stench and mosquitoes breeding in the ditches that have not been cleaned and though we have petitioned for street lights with the Corporation administration, none of these issues have been solved," lamented residents of the area.

Hence, to protest against the inaction of Corporation officials and restoration of basic civic amenities in the region, the residents along with members of the Marxist Community Party laid siege to the First Zonal Office in Tirupur.
