'To become the face of Coimbatore South, Kamal Haasan must first understand people's sentiments: Vanathi Srinivasan during final campaign

"To become the face of Coimbatore South, Kamal Haasan must first understand people's sentiments:" lashes Vanathi Srinivasan during final campaign.

Coimbatore: With the curtains coming down on election campaigns ahead of the elcetions on April 6, BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan contesting from Coimbatore South constituency, ended her final phase of campaigning by addressing volunteers in the Tatabad Six Corner area, Coimbatore.

"The AIADMK government has been a government for all people for the last 10 years. And during the last six years of Prime Minister Modi's rule, economically backward people have seen many improvements. It was Prime Minister Modi who provided toilet facilities to all households in the country. Edappadi Palanisamy is running the government successfully, shattering DMK leader Stalin's dream of disbanding the government after the demise of former Chief Minister, late J Jayalalithaa," stated Vanathi Srinivasan.

"Also, the Modi government has handled the Coronavirus pandemic emergency better than the rest of the world, with India finding and providing free vaccines to people on par with the developed countries," she added.

"I have traveled by train for 430 days for public service in the last five years, from 2016 till date. I also have a family and I have been involved in public service even when my children were ill. They have taught us in our party that politics is about serving the people. I can tell you the list of works we have done for the people of Coimbatore, in the last five years. Can you tell us what Kamal Haasan did for Coimbatore South constituency after starting the political party? Kamal Haasan must first understand the sentiments of the people if he wants to become the face of Coimbatore South," reiterated Vanathi Sriivasan.

Vanathi Srinivasan also opined that "Kamal Haasan as the Chairman of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) has written a letter to fellow candidates saying that election is not a battlefield and we acknowledge that because we see politics as an opportunity to serve the people. Although I lost the last 2016 Assembly elections, I did not take it to heart and quit my job as a lawyer to serve the people. As part of that, I have hosted 45 schemes for women, children and youth."

"The DMK continues to be a party that demeans women. But the BJP is a party that respects women, which is why a woman like me from an ordinary family has been able to take over as the leader of the BJP's National Women's Wing. In the absence of 'Amma' J Jayalalithaa, I would like to work as your sister in this constituency and Edappadi Palanisamy must take the post of CM again to continue this good governance. I can get many projects from the Central Government for this constituency and to make this happen, the people of Coimbatore South constituency should vote for me in the coming elections," she implored.
