'No Chief Minister has ever stooped this low', Congress candidate Mayura S Jayakumar slams Edappadi Palaniswamy

Congress Candidate for Coimbatore South Mayura S Jayakumar criticised and spoke about EPS and his fellow contestants from the constituency.



Coimbatore: Congress candidate for Coimbatore South - Mayura S Jayakumar today campaigned for one last time before elections 2021. He met with people and sought support for Madhasarbatra Murpoku Kootani and Congress.

At the gathering, he rather criticised and condemned Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy. He said, "CM has stooped so low to the central government and has mortgaged the state completely."

Campaigning at Puliyakulam, Mayura also commented that Tamil Nadu is a state with self-respect but the incumbent government has destroyed it. Speaking about the hike in prices of petrol and LPG cylinder gases, the congress leader said that BJP is against the people and should be given a proper lesson this election.

“Only the common people are suffering under the BJP government. They are against the people and they should be thrown out of power this election," Mayura added told.

Makkal Needhi Maiam's chief Kamal Hassan and BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan are also the contestants for the upcoming election from the Coimbatore South constituency. Mayura asked, "Where and what was Kamal Hassan doing during the lockdown? Has he given any aids to the people in this constituency?"

Mayura Jayakumar made a statement saying that he had provided financial aids during lockdown to the people of Coimbatore South. “I provided the aids to people during the lockdown and was infected by coronavirus but that is not a problem as I have promised myself to work for the people,” he added.

Further, he slammed Vanathi and asked about her relationship with Coimbatore and its people. “She had earlier contested in Mylapore constituency in Chennai and was defeated, though it was a constituency with a majority of Hindus, which the BJP always call to be their strength. But now, she has come here to contest thinking to bifurcate people religiously which won’t happen. Coimbatore is a place where all kind of people live together without any religious riots and that BJP is trying to break that," Mayura claimed at the meet.

Mayura Jayakumar also claimed that BJP threatened AIADMK to allocate this constituency to contest.

He confidently commented that even though he was defeated in the previous elections, Congress and DMK has given him another opportunity to serve people from this constituency. Mayura then urged the people to support him on the polling day.
