'I will visit and drink coffee at the houses of those who click pictures of political party members who distribute cash for votes:' Kamal Haasan

To curb money being distributed by various political parties to win the election fraudulently, Kamal Haasan vows to drink coffee with those who click pictures of such political cadres.

Coimbatore: Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) President, Kamal Haasan campaigned in the Varadharajapuram area in Coimbatore in support of MNM's Singanallur constituency candidate, Dr. R. Mahendran.

Addressing the crowd, Kamal Haasan said, "Voters are being paid cash to take Tamil Nadu under lease for five years. Only four people can eat a plate of biriyani for one meal by accepting this small bribe given by these parties. People need to think how much money these political parties must have looted if they are distributing money to the voters. People need to realize this and must vote honestly," he warned.

"Some honest journalists who want to defend democracy contacted me and revealed that cash distribution had been started by various political parties. Especially the lady candidate who is contesting in my constituency is said to have started distributing cash from today. My only request to people is to take a picture of the people who distribute cash so that the face of the person who pays is clearly visible, and have the pictures sent to me.

I will visit and have coffee at the houses of such people who do so. I consider a loyal voter as my family because of their honesty. If you shoot people who distribute cash with your phones, they will run away in fear as soon as you take the camera out. This is something all voters should keep in mind for democracy must prosper," reiterated Kamal Haasan.
