'The progress of the people of Tamil Nadu is most important to me:' Udhayanidhi Stalin

Even as Udhayanidhi Stalin challenged the Central Government to conduct an IT raid at his residence, he reiterated that the progress of the people of Tamil Nadu was his focus.

Coimbatore: The DMK Youth Secretary, Udhayanidhi Stalin, campaigned on Friday in Pollachi in support of the Pollachi Assembly constituency DMK candidate, Dr. Varadarajan and the Valparai Assembly constituency Communist Party of India candidate, Arumugam. While campaigning, he challenged the Central Government to raid his residence following the IT raid at his sister Senthamarai's residence, on Friday.

Addressing the public at the campaign, Udhayanidhi Stalin said, "The people of Tamil Nadu handed us a huge victory in the parliamentary elections. The DMK also has the status of being India's third largest party. The main reason for this is the people of Tamil Nadu. That is why the Indian Prime Minister, Modi is angry with the people of Tamil Nadu. But the people of Tamil Nadu too are very angry with him because it was the BJP which brought in demonetization and fooled the people. They ought to be made to lose in this election. The DMK candidate is in a position to win in Edappadi's constituency, and the Chief Minister will lose. Edappadi K Palanisamy and all his ministers are sure to go to jail on various corruption charges. Also a new jail should be built just to imprison the AIADMK ministers," he opined.

"There is no point in Prime Minister Modi claiming that I came into politics through a shortcut when Edappadi himself became the Chief Minister by falling at the feet of Sasikala. Amit Shah's son has himself amassed assets worth Rs. 120 crores in three years," he alleged.

During the campaign, Udhayanidhi Stalin also challenged the Central Government asking if it had the courage to conduct an income tax audit at his residence akin to the IT raid on his sister Senthamarai's residence on Friday.

Udhayanidhi Stalin also criticized the BJP for forcing former Indian cricket captain Saurav Ganguly into joining the party, thus resulting in him suffering from chest pains recently. "I assure that all the culprits involved in the Pollachi rape cases will be arrested once the DMK comes to power. I will also ensure that all the demands of the people in Pollachi will be met. The progress of the people of Tamil Nadu is of the utmost importance to me," he reiterated.
