Alleging that S P Velumani, the Minister of Municipal and Corporation had looted money across all the development plans of Coimbatore including Smart City projects and LED street light projects, DMK leader M K Stalin vowed to punish S P Velumani under law, after being voted to power.

Speaking at a massive poll campaign in Kavundampalayam here on Thursday to garner votes in favor of DMK and alliance candidates -- Paiya Krishnan, MLA N Karthik, Mayura Jayakumar, V M Shanmugasundaram, DMK leader M K Stalin slammed the state and central government for its costly mistakes, especially Minister S P Velumani for his alleged corruption.

"There are multiple corruption cases on S.P. Velumani's own brother Anbarasan and his close aide Chandrasekhar. According to the manifesto that DMK has released, all Ministers who are corrupt will be booked and punished under the law through a separate court which will be implemented. I will not leave anyone unpunished," he reiterated.

He also recalled the incidents in which his partymen were falsely booked and tortured by the AIADMK government and slammed that the ruling party's regime will bid farewell on May 2.

Retorting to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath comments that Tamil Nadu has been an unsafe place for women during previous DMK regime, M K Stalin highlighted that UP is the only state in India that is unsafe for women. "UP has recorded the most number of rape cases in India and all we know it is a state which is not safe for women. Data supporting the same has been given by the central government itself," quipped M K Stalin.
