BJP Vanathi Srinivasan attacks MNM Kamal Haasan, explains the meaning of "lip service".
Coimbatore: After the controversial remark made by MNM leader Kamal Haasan on BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan, she has now responded by calling him a 'lip service' provider.
Last week, Union Minister Smriti Irani campaigned in support of BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan from the Coimbatore South constituency. Smriti Irani challenged Kamal for a debate with Vanathi Srinivasan. Responding to this, the Party Secretary of the Makkal Neethi Maiam, C. K. Kumaravel made a statement that the student body of the MNM was enough to discuss with a 'Tukkada' politician like Vanathi Srinivasan.
Vanathi Srinivasan who campaigned in the Swarnambika lay-out area in Coimbatore yesterday retaliated and said that Kamal is known for his 'Lip Service'. Vanathi also explained that lip service comes with two meanings: one is where he gives empty oral promises and in another meaning mentioning his various kissing stunts in the film industry.
Vanathi also questioned Kamal Haasan for calling her a 'Tukkada' politician with this kind of reputation.
She also responded to the tweet on Twitter to the MNM calling her a 'Tukkada' politician. "I have been involved in public service for over 30 years, but I am still branded as a ‘tukkada’ politician," she said.
Vanathi Srinivasan also declared that she is ready for a public debate against Kamal Haasan.
In the poll-bound Tamil Nadu, Vanathi Srinivasan from BJP will be facing MNM leader Kamal Haasan at the Coimbatore South constituency on April 6.
