Mettupalayam police department investigating trucks collision on Ooty main road near Mettupalayam
Coimbatore: A moving truck collided into another stationary truck on the Ooty main road in Mettupalayam, leaving six persons injured, including a couple.
The collision's impact was tragically on the house of Santhamani which is situated on the Ooty Main Road in Mettupalayam. Earlier, a truck which was headed towards Ooty halted on the main road in Mettupalayam, after one of its tyre burst.
Around 4 am next morning, another truck which was heading from Ooty towards Mettupalayam collided onto the stationary truck and crashed into Santhamani's house.
Santhamani and her grandson Ranjith Kumar who were asleep suffered minor injuries. In the truck that came from Ooty, its driver Selvaraj (52), his wife Vijayalakshmi (45), son Karthik (28) and daughter Kavitha (19) were injured.
All those injured were taken to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital for immediate first aid and then transported to Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment. The Mettupalayam police department has filed a case and are investigating the truck collision.
