Coimbatore: A college student, Bharat Kumar who is currently pursuing B.Sc. Electronics at PSG College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore has invented an affordable, pocket friendly PH value measuring equipment.

Speaking to Simplicity, Bharat Kumar said, "So far, I have made many innovative products such as an affordable automatic hand sanitizer vending machine, a three-in-one cycle etc. I have got approval for my projects from the Central government MSME (Student category) department. And I am grateful to SimpliCity since I was first recognised by them in one of their articles about my innovations. Following that, I have been recognised more."

"My aim is to make innovative products which are affordable and useful to public for their welfare. I have recently invented an affordable pocket-friendly PH value measuring equipment which measures the PH value of a chemical. Health department officials can use this for testing fruits, because by testing through this equipment, we can find out whether the solution is acidic, basic or netural by its PH value. By using the PH chart we will be able to verify the solution, whether it is acid, base or netural.

At present, similar equipment like this are sold in the market for Rs. 1,500 - Rs. 2,000 but my equipment will cost only Rs. 700. It is also pocket-friendly, whereas other equipment sold in the markets are bigger in size. Also, my equipment cab be accessed anywhere. At present, I have designed it to be battery-operated but it can be converted to solar also," detailed Bharat Kumar.

"Other highlights about this equipment is that I have used mercury lead PH sensor technology for sensing purposes. So, we get 0.1 percent accurate value than others in the market. Above all, it is user-friendly which is to be noted," he added.
