Various trade unions resolve to defeat BJP- AIADMK alliance in Tirupur

Tirupur trade unions have decided to campaign against the BJP-AIADMK alliance alleging that they had ruined their lives.

Tirupur: Tirupur trade unions have decided to campaign against the AIADMK-BJP alliance, alleging that the two political parties had ruined their lives.

A special meeting for representatives of various trade unions was held on Friday at the CITU office in Tirupur.

DMK, AITUC and other trade unions participated in this meeting which was headed by CITU Banian Companies Employees Association leader, C Moorthy. During the meeting, many resolutions were made out of which a resolution to defeat the BJP party which is ruling at the Centre for changing 44 labour laws into 4 labour laws which they believed violated the livelihood of labourers.

These labour laws are said to have resized the rights of labour unions and affected the laws of labour strikes. The new labour laws are said to have been designed especially to keep employees as bonded labourers and reportedly in complete favour of factory and corporate owners.

The trade unions alleged that the AIADMK's state government was blindly led to trust all decisions made by the ruling BJP party at the Centre. Hence, a resolution was made by the unions urging its members to vote against the NDA alliance, to hand them a thumping defeat in the polls ahead for their injustice to the labour community.

A resolution was also made by trade unions to run campaigns on the 29th, 30th and 31st of March against seemingly anti-labour parties like BJP and AIADMK, across the four constituencies of Tirupur North, Tirupur South, Avinashi and Palladam.

The trade union members have also decided to run campaigns by distributing pamphlets that request people to vote against the BJP-AIADMK alliance.
