Coimbatore: A town garbage disposal site was allocated by the municipality officials near the Stan Moore road in Valparai, Coimbatore. The waste materials collected from areas in the Valparai Municipality is brought to this garbage disposal site by the workers.
It was revealed that collectors who come in search of tyres, damaged plastic goods and iron rods in the disposal site are lighting fires to the garbage for segregation purposes. Since they follow such harmful environmental practices, the areas surrounding the disposal site gets blocked with smoke. Due to this, the travellers and other commuters in the areas are facing many troubles.
Also, people at the nearby court and college campuses are also highly troubled due to the smoke. If the public there gets exposed to such smoke and fire, it can lead to Tuberculosis.
So, the public from the Stan Moore area has requested the administrative officials from the municipality to identify the perpetrators who burn the garbage at the site and to take immediate actions in Valparai.
