Smoke emitting from garbage heap in Kinathukadavu checkpost area poses health hazard to motorists

Coimbatore: Smoke emitting from the garbage heap in Kinathukkadavu checkpost area is fast becoming a health hazard for motorists plying on that route.

Garbage from the numerous tea and food stalls in the area is being dumped onto the Power Station road and being set afire in the wee hours of the morning.

As a result, smoke being emitted from the area has not only become a nuisance for passers-by and motorists on the Pollachi-Coimbatore National Highway but has also begun to pose a health hazard owing to suffocation.

Therefore, motorists and others in the area have requested the Kinathukadavu Municipality to initiate immediate action to remove the garbage dump that has piled up in the Checkpost area.
