Here is the list of assurances made by the Makkal Needhi Maiam President Kamal Haasan for Coimbatore South Constituency:
1. An office for MLA's will be set up in all wards. These will function as 24-hours as public grievance centers.
2. People who are living without a Patta for a long time will be given a free land Patta.
3. The Central Jail will be relocated outside the city and the building will be redesigned as an integrated shopping center.
4. Underground Subways will be built at the areas of Gandhipuram, Townhall, Cross Cut Road, 100ft road and Oppanakara Street.
5. Welfare Board will be set up for goldsmiths
6. Sewer facilities will be provided at a depth of 6 feet throughout every ward.
7. A Government Blood Bank will be set-up in the constituency.
8. A home for the elderly will be set up and food will be provided to them. Medical insurance will also be provided to them.
9. Gymnasiums and libraries will be set up in all wards.
10. Loan sharks will be completely abolished. Loans at reasonable interest will be given for small entrepreneurs.
11. Free Legal Service Centers will be set up in all wards.
12. The use of plastic will be eliminated, water, plastic and electrical wasteswill be recycled. Cottage industries and self help groups will be encouraged.
13. Solar Road will be set up on commercial roads like Crosscut road.
14. Skill development camps will be set up in all wards
15. Clean and leveled drinking water facilities will be set up across the constituency.
16. Proper functioning of street lights in all wards will be ensured.
17. All measures will be taken to ensure clean hygiene in Coimbatore. Solid waste management will also be ensured.
18. Government services will come to people's houses.
19. Hygienic drinking water and toilet facilities in Ambedkar hostels and government schools will be ensured. Drainage management facilities will be provided. Students studying in homes will be given priority when it comes to employment.
20. Free training centers will be set up for competitive examinations
21. Steps will be taken to reduce traffic congestion. Arrangements will be made to complete the pending bridge construction works.
22. The interests of unorganized workers will be protected.
23. The government will set up public infrastructure facilities in collaboration with voluntary organizations to serve women.
24. Water levels will be properly maintained with the participation of the general public
25. Student friendly organization will be formed to guide students by high school graduates.
