Coimbatore: In the upcoming assembly elections, Coimbatore Pump Manufacturers Association (KOPMA) President Maniraj is contesting at the Singanallur assembly constituency in Coimbatore as an Independent Candidate.

On receiving the symbol Maniraj said "I am from an engineering background and I am exuberantly happy that my symbol is from my field. I am involved in everyday campaigning, there is very good response from the public."
