MNM President Kamal Haasan accompanies Coimbatore North candidate and his loyal fan Thangavelu while filing nomination

Makkal Needhi Maiam party President Kamal Haasan was present todayalong with the party candidate while filing nomination at the Coimbatore North Constituency.


Coimbatore: Thangavel from Makkal Needhi Maiam party is contesting in the Coimbatore North Constituency. He today filed his nomination at the Agricultural University extension office.



MNM party president Kamal Haasan was also present during the submission of the nomination.

Thangavelu who established the first fan club of Kamal Haasan in Poo Market area has been his loyal and long-lasting fan and has served as the head of Kamal Hassan’s fan clubs.



After Thangavelu’s nominations, he met with the press outside and said that he was glad about introducing candidates like Thangavelu who has been doing good work to people. Kamal Haasan then said that the voices of good people like him should be heard at the state assembly.

When asked if politics was the reason behind the IT raids at MNM Treasurer's house? Kamal Haasan said that could also be a reason behind it.

He then said that "I don't need a helicopter, I can travel by bus too, it's the people who supported me to reach this level. Also I am travelling in my money not the government's which I have earned from participating in shows like BigBoss.

My party members are constantly facing troubles when we requested permission for me to talk at colleges and we don't get permission easily to talk at venues."

He then said that "It is better to launch our election manifesto after all of them have launched theirs and Makkal Needhi Maiam will always be a role model for the public."

MNM party president Kamal Haasan then said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has announced Rs 1000 for every woman head of the family and said that MNM would be a model for other parties.
