Bail petition of a Tobacco smuggler dismissed in Coimbatore


Coimbatore: Bail petition of a Tobacco smuggler who smuggled 476 kg of tobacco was dismissed in Coimbatore. While inspecting a lorry in Ukkadam, Lorrypettai on Jan. 20, 476 kg of banned tobacco products smuggled from Karnataka were seized. Investigations revealed that tobacco was hoarded in a godown in Ukkadam.

Abbas, 35, and Zainullahdeen, 40, were arrested in connection with the incident. Abbas filed a petition in the District Sessions Court seeking his release on bail. The bail petition was 'dismissed' as he continued to be involved in tobacco smuggling.
