Sale of mud pots increase in Kinathukkadavu area ahead of scorching summer


Coimbatore: Sale of mud pots increase in Kinathukkadavu area as people rush to buy to quench their thirst in the scorching summer.

People in Tamil Nadu have been experiencing cold weather for the past one month due to continuous rains. But sunny days are increasing. This has increased sales of pottery to store water to quench thirst in the scorching sun in the Kinathukadavu area of Coimbatore district.



A variety of pottery made by pottery workers for sale at the ground opposite the new bus stand at Kinathukadavu. Prices range from 50 rupees to 500 rupees.



Though we drink cold water from the fridge it does not quench your thirst, pottery workers say that traditional mud pots can quench your thirst. Pottery workers say sales of pottery made by potters are a bit sluggish as everyone now has refrigerators in their homes.
