9.40 lakh people to be provided with deworming tablets in Coimbatore


Coimbatore: Health officials said that about 9.40 lakh people to be provided with deworming tablets in Coimbatore. The first phase of the nationwide deworming camp will take place from March 15 and March 18 to 20. The second phase will be held from March 22 and March 25 to 27. People between the ages of 1 and 19 can get deworming tablets at Anganwadi Centers, Nutrition Centers and health centers during the camp days.

Health officials said, "Deworming camps are conducted across the country once in 6 months every year to control theintestinal worms in children. The first deworming camp for this year will start next Monday. In Coimbatore, 9 lakh 40 thousand 258 people under the age of 19 are to be provided with deworming tablets. The dosage of 200 mg tablets for 1 to 2 year olds and 400 mg tablets for 2 to 19 year olds will be given. Deworming tablets should be taken after meals by placing it in the mouth for it to dissolve. This will save children from malnutrition and keep them healthier. ”
