Ambulance loses control: 6 injured in an accident in Coimbatore

Around 6 people were injured during this unfateful accident.


Coimbatore: An ambulance carrying a patient in Coimbatore collided on an electric pole today. Around 6 people were injured during this unfateful accident.

An old woman was receiving treatment from a private hospital in Pollachi. Doctors at the hospital advised her to be shifted to the Government Hospital in Coimbatore for further treatment.

Due to this, the Hospital made arrangements for an ambulance to take the old woman from the private hospital in Pollachi to the Government Hospital in Coimbatore. She was accompanied by one of her relatives and another hospital bystander. The hospital ambulance driver was on his way to Coimbatore when he drove on a bridge near Coimbatore.

Unfortunately the ambulance suddenly lost control and collided on the barricaded in the center of the bridge and also hit an electric pole.

Meanwhile, youngsters who were on their motorcycle behind the ambulance also collided with the ambulance and were thrown due to the crash.

In this accident, 4 members in the ambulance along with two others on the motorcycle were heavily injured. On witnessing the accident, locals of the area recovered them and sent them to a hospital nearby.

After this one person's identity was not revealed yet. Police officials on receiving information arrived at the location and investigated the scene. Police officials have filed a case regarding this accident and are investigating it thoroughly.
