Coimbatore: Around 8 elephants cause traffic congestion in Sirukundra Estate in Valparai, Coimbatore.

Elephants are witnessed frequently visiting the estate areas in Valparai, Coimbatore. Estate labourers and area public are shocked and are scared to come out during the night as elephants can be seen roaming during the night alone and in herds.



However, 8 elephants were trying to cross the road near Sirukundra estate in Valparai, Coimbatore around 4 pm today. The group of 8 elephants along with their young ones were trying to cross the road from the forest range into the tea estate for about half an hour by spraying mud and breaking the plants.



This caused heavy traffic congestion in the area. Public in the area are suffering because of the blockage on the way. They have requested the officials to send the elephants back into the forest area.
