Officials seize car belonging to AIADMK with gift items; officials dispose gift items

Coimbatore: In an incident that happened in Peelamedu, Coimbatore today, a Maruti 800 car belonging to AIADMK ward secretary Manoharan was found stacked with gift items belonging to AIADMK parked in the house of Natrajan from BJP, near Nehru Nagar in Peelamedu, Coimbatore.

Gift items including sarees, stainless steel items, dhoti and others were found with the pictures of Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy and Late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on it. It is also said that these gift items were being distributed secretly.

Upon learning of this, the local DMK members and the public seized the cars at the house. After informing the police, Inspector Jyoti, who arrived at the scene, reportedly told them to transfer the items to another location.

Outraged regarding this incident, DMK members informed the Returning Officer. Election official Anantha Kumar, who arrived at the scene, inspected the car after which he promised to take action.

This agitation sparked a large number of people in the area, including area DMK representative Balasubramaniam, ward secretaries Madasamy, BD Murugesan, AS Natarajan, lawyers Maruthupandi, Muthuvijayan, Kannan and Balachandran.
