Coimbatore jewellery Manufacturers Association send suggestions to Election Commissioner for enhancing SOP


Coimbatore: While the model code of conduct has come into implementation, Coimbatore jewellery manufacturers Association(CJMA) has sent suggestions to election commissioner for enhancing SOP.

In the letter 'CJMA' President, B. Muthu Venkatram and Secretary, R. Ellapan said, "We the gold jewellery manufacturers produce 200 kilos each day and supply the ornaments across India and Internationally. Our modus of trading are, supplying the goods to the buyer in personal,supplying the goods on approval for selection to the buyer in personal. During the previous elections we have faced many bad experiences during the model code of conduct implementation.

They submit some suggestions for enhancing SOP.

Every principal manufacturer willtravel with the following documents.

1.Registration of GST

2.Delivery chalan Or tax invoice

3.Authorisation to the person

4. Copy of the stock ledger

They said, "We request you to advice the election officers Who intercept the movements of goods can verify and find out the nature of the movement. If the officer finds that the goods are not related to political activities after collecting the documents the official should let the vehicle to move further. The collected documents may be sent to GST department for verification. These suggestions should be enhanced to the present SOP for ease of doing business. We expect the office to immediately respond and save the industry."
