Madras High Court Judge Kirubakaran took part as the guest of honour for this event.

During his address Judge Kirubakaran stated that "Tirupur district has not only contributed to the textile industry but also played a vital role in maintaining the environment. This plan must be expanded across Tamilnadu."

He further said that "People's hearts are more polluted than the environment and the culture of getting bribery for vote is normalised. I request the people to stop getting money for vote as it will give a reason to officials and politicians to hide their mistakes."

Judge Kirubakaran further accused that "Few officers in Tamilnadu are smuggling sand to Kerala for their personal gains. In return medical wastes from Kerala are being brought into Tamilnadu."

He then requested everyone to have a change at heart and requested the public to grow a tree at their homes and help save the environment.Judge Kirubakaran then congratulated the volunteers and farmers who helped in making Tirupur green by planting the tree saplings."
