Coimbatore: Transport workers protest for various demands including 14th pay commission. Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation employees have been on strike demanding various things, including the immediate payment of arrears to retired state transport workers and calls for talks on the implementation of the 14th Pay Commission for Transport Corporation employees. The employees of the Transport Corporation protested in front of the workshop near Pollachi Coimbatore Road today and chanted slogans emphasizing the demands.
Employees accused the government of using inexperienced drivers and driving buses without negotiating with transport workers for talks. They have warned that a massive protest will be staged in Chennai on behalf of the All India Union if the government does not immediately call for talks and meet their demands.
