Ooty Transport Authorities protests at the Ooty Central Busstand

More than 150 government buses are used by the public to commute between Ooty, Coonoor, Kotagiri and Gudalur in The Nilgiris district. With the transport department worker's strike, around 95% of the government buses did not operate within The Nilgiris district.


The Nilgiris: Transport Authorities staged a Dharna protest in Ooty, denouncing transport workers for writing notes refusing to operate the triple seat busses on the route from Ooty Central bus stand.

More than 150 government buses are used by the public to commute between Ooty, Coonoor, Kotagiri and Gudalur in The Nilgiris district. With the transport department worker's strike, around 95% of the government buses did not operate within The Nilgiris district.



Meanwhile, the transport authority staff refused to operate the triple seat buses and the transport officials sat down in front of the Udhaya workshop and protested against the arbitrary writing. The police dispersed in a short time as requested.

Employees at the Ooty Central Bus Stand staged a Dharna protest denouncing officials for writing notes refusing to operate the bus on the route sets from the Central bus stand.
