Limited number of buses operate in Pollachi due to strike

Passengers including labourers, college students were seen waiting in long lines to board buses for commuting within and outside the district.


Coimbatore: Government Transport Department Workers Union members have begun their indefinite strike from today across Tamilnadu urging the government to immediately respond to their 9 fold demand.

With the workers involved in the strike, only 180 buses from their sheds were operated today in Pollachi. Public witnessed very few buses for their commute as majority association members have taken part in the strike.



Passengers including labourers, college students were seen waiting in long lines to board buses for commuting within and outside the district.



On the other hand, passengers can be seen overcrowding in private buses. Passengers were seen fighting for a spot which created a panic situation at bus stands.

Public have requested the government to immediately organize for a meeting with the transport department workers and urged them to dissolve the pending decisions.
