Coimbatore: Differently-abled protest by forcefully entering government offices. Although the government has announced that the subsidy should be given only to those who are 40% disabled.



They alleged that Rs.1000 / - per month is not enough for the registered individuals and they demanded Rs.5000 / - per month should be given to the mentally ill.

S Punitha, Coimbatore district secretary of the Association for All Persons with Disabilities and Protection of Persons with Disabilities, said it was unfortunate that the scheme was not implemented in Tamil Nadu while it was being implemented in neighboring states.

He also said that Jawaharlal Nehru work scheme should be implemented and must be paid Rs 250 for working four hours a day. The Government of India should systematically implement the quota for education and employment for the disabled, which has been raised from 3% to 4% under the new legal rights. They demanded that priority be given to the families of the disabled.



They said that they expect that the Tamil Nadu budget to be announced todaywill allocate funds for the differently-abled. He also presented their demands to the Tamil Nadu government and said that a statewide protest would be held todayand tomorrow
