Remembrance event for the 1998 bomb blast victims held at RS puram, Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A serial bomb blast in Coimbatore in 1998 killed at least 58 people.

The 23rd annual Pushpanjali on behalf of Hindu organizations for the victims was held at RS Puram.

It was attended by more than a thousand people from various organizations including BJP, RSS, Hindu Munnani. BJP state president L Murugan, vice president Annamalai Hindu Munnani leader Kadeswara Subramaniam and Kerala Hindu Dharma professor Sasikala Teacher were present.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP state vice president Annamalai said, "An attempt is being made to destroy spirituality in Tamil Nadu. Many Dravidian parties think the word Bharat Mata Ki Jai is a bad word. To erase the history of Dravidian parties, BJP members will sit in the assembly in large numbers after the election. There would be no DMK after the 2021 elections."

BJP state president Murugan said, "DMK and Communist parties are working against Hindu and Tamil culture. No action has been taken against those who slander Hindus. We must defeat the false propaganda of the DMK. DMK honoring 'Vel' is a deceiving act against Hindus. BJP's success of Vel Yathrai has led to Stalin using the same . DMK is against Tamils and Tamil culture. The forthcoming election is between anti-nationals and nationalists."
