Pothanur police officials have filed a case under section 174 and are investigating the case at multiple angles.

Praveen Kumar (21) s/o George from Kandhal, The Nilgiris district was an engineering graduate who was staying at a room along with friends at the LIC Colony near Pothanur, Coimbatore.
Praveen Kumar worked at a private company near Neelankarai. Praveen Kumar who stayed at his room alone, committed sucide over being depressed about life. After seeing this, his friends called the Pothanur police station.
On arriving at the scene, police officials recovered the body of Praveen Kumar and sent it to the government hospital for autopsy.
