Eight people testified in the Rs 870 crore fraud case.


Coimbatore: Eight people have testified in the Rs 870 crore fraud case involving Bassi, a Tirupur-headquartered company where Rs 870 were swindled from the company. The case was then adjourned.

Tirupur-headquartered financial institution Bassi Forex was arrested in 2011 in connection with a Rs 870 crore scam case involving its directors Kathiravan, Mohanraj and Kamalavalli. The witness trial began in 2013.

Out of a total of 1,430 witnesses, only 500 have been questioned. When it came to the hearing yesterday, eight witnesses were questioned and then the case was adjourned.
