Funds should be allocated in the coming assembly session to implement the Anaimalayaru Nallaru project - Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi leader ER Eswaran

Coimbatore: Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi leader ER Eswaran insisted that funds should be allocated in the coming assembly session to implement the Anaimalayaru Nallaru project.

The executive council meeting of the Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi was held in Pollachi today in view of the forthcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The meeting was chaired by District Secretary Nithiyanandan and was attended by the party's general secretary Easwaran.

He told the reporters that, "The Anaimalayaru Nallaru project had become part of the election manifesto. The Tamil Nadu government will have to allocate funds to implement the project in the forthcoming assembly elections without further delay. The people of the area have been demanding for a long time to declare Pollachi as a separate district. When several districts with sparse populations have been made separate districts with headquarters, why are they reluctant to make Pollachi a separate district which has a large population? Pollachi should be declared a district immediately without delay or else protests and shutting down of shops will take place."

He added, "PMK is threatening AIADMK for a seat as the election nears. Volunteers do not want AIADMK senior executives stooping down to PMK. PMK, DMDK, BJP are all threatening which has made members sad about the state of affairs. AIADMK volunteers are not ready for the election campaign no matter on what alliance is formed."

He further said, "AIADMK will face various problems when Sasikala is fully involved in politics. Only the rape case is being talked about in Pollachi and no one talks about infrastructure. The government could have put an end to it and if Jayalalithaa had been there, she would have put an end to this problem immediately. The AIADMK can't find a solution because they want to save few people. They failed to gain trust of the women and they are not focussing enough on other works which completely devastated Pollachi."
