Coimbatore: Tamilnadu mid day meal scheme and Anganwadi pension union organised a general meeting todayat the Thomas Club in Coimbatore. The meeting took place under State Head of the Union Narayanan.
After the meeting, Narayanan addressed the media and said that "Mid day meal scheme and Anganwadi workers get a monthly pension of only 2000 rupees. Goverment must provide the retired workers with rupees 7,850. As a form urging the government to sanction this request we are going to participate in a siege the Director's office of the Social Welfare Department in Chennai on February 10th."
Over 40 plus members from across the state participated in this meeting in Coimbatore.
