It would be good, if Kamal Haasan joins DMK alliance - Congress State Head KS Alagiri

KS Alagiri during a press meet said that Rahul Gandhi's campaign will focus on rejuvenating Tamilnadu and to bring a secular party to power.

Coimbatore: Congress State Head KS Alagiri met with the press at Gopalapuram, Coimbatore. During the press interaction he said that Rahul Gandhi is beginning his campaigning in the Western districts from 23rd to 25th of January.

KS Alagiri said that Rahul Gandhi's campaign will focus on rejuvenating Tamilnadu and to bring a secular party to power.

During the press interaction, a question was raised about Udhayanidhi Stalin's recent comment on allocating constituencies with less winning chances to alliance parties, To which KS Alagiri answered by questioning back DMK's move of what they will do with alliance parties in a place where there is no winning probability.

Later KS Alagiri said that both DMK and Congress are in alliance with secularism as the binding force abs and said that small issues like this will be resolved.

Congress State Head KS Alagiri further said that if Kamal Haasan decides to contest alone, it will benefit BJP. Though Congress does not believe that Kamal Haasan is actually B team for BJP, Kamal Haasan's party should not disrupt fight against BJP and should decide to join an alliance with us and DMK.

When asked about the number of seats in the upcoming election, Congress State Head KS Alagiri said that "Congress will ask for seats based on winning percentage and the situation in politics and a third front in Tamilnadu is not good."

He also said that BJP forcing AIADMK to take back Sasikala is wrong and said that her release will not make any impact in Tamilnadu elections.

Congress State Head KS Alagiri also said that Congress won't disagree or agree with the court's order to pardon the 7 accused involved in Rajiv Gandhi's assassination and that Congress will not interfere with Court's decesion of a pardoning initiative.

When asked about the death of 2 fishermen by Srilankan officials, KS Alagiri said that Congress has requested Rajapaksha to reduce the sentences. He then said that BJP is trying to convince Srilankan to not to form an alliance with China and that is the mystery behind Katchatheevu.

KS Alagiri also said that Thejas would have won only 40 seats in Bihar if not for the alliance parties.

He also said that corporate companies will give profits for the first two years and then stop but farmers will not do that and mentioned that the farmers sell at the minimal price. He then urged the government to consider the farmer's request.

KS Alagiri then accused Prime Minister Modi for Jio's monopoly in India and said that Indians will soon be pushed to a situation where BSNL will be closed with Jio settling big.
