73rd Army Day was celebrated today at the Wellington Army Academy in Coonoor, The Nilgiris.
The Nilgiris: Army Day in India is celebrated on January 15th every year to honour the day Field Marshal M. Cariappa took his oath as the Army General for India from British Commander Sir Francis Butcher in 1948.
As a day to remember such an honour and to remember the army officers who lost their lives for our Nation, January 15th is celebrated as the Army Day in India.
As a part of this, respect was paid to the war heroes by Colonel NK Das (Army Academy Commandant) at the Wellington Army Academy in Coonoor.
Lot of Army Officers and Soldiers took part in the Army Day Ceremony.
