Over 3 lakh flower plants to be planted at Coonoor SIMS Park ahead of Annual Flower Show in Summer!

A total of 3 lakhs 10 thousands plants are to be planted ahead of the flower exhibition.


The Nilgiris: Coonoor SIMS park workers are getting ready to conduct the upcoming 63rd Annual Flower Exhibition in May. As a part of the preparation process, over 3 lakh flower plants are scheduled to be planted from today.



Planting ceremony at the Coonoor SIMS park was inaugurated today by Gurumani, Assistant Director of Horticulture as the exhibition is usually conducted in the month of May.



At the first stage, the process of planting Salvia and Dahlia plants have commenced. A total of 3 lakhs 10 thousands plants are to be planted ahead of the flower exhibition.

29 plant varieties like Salvia, Cyclamen, Andrinum, Balsam, Begonia, Marigold, Geranium and other 152 flowering plants from America, Japan, France, Germany and Netherlands are to scheduled to be planted for the upcoming 63rd Annual Flower Exhibition in Coonoor, The Nilgiris.

Assistant director of Horticulture Department Anitha, SIMS Park Manager Lakshman and other officials from the Horticulture Department of Tamilnadu took part in the planting ceremony.
