Coimbatore: Vijayalakshmi (58) who belongs to Kotagiri district in Nilgiris was on her way to Karamadai area yesterday eveningto meet her relatives.
Vijayalakshmi who got down at Gandhinagar bus stop and was walking towards her relatives home when she was suddenly attacked by two men in a motorcycle with helmets who tried to snatch her chain.
Shocked by this incident, Lakshmi grabbed her chain without letting the snatchers take it away from her. During the struggle the chain snatchers managed to escape with 4 sovereigns of the chain.
Before Vijayalakshmi tried to yell and managed to get help, the chain snatchers took off with the chain.
Post this traumatic incident, Vijayalakshmi filed a complaint at the Karamadai police station. Police authorities are now checking the CCTV camera recordings which can shed more light on this case.
