20% reservation for Vanniyars: Coimbatore PMK members participated in a protest in Pollachi

Pattali Makkal Katchi members participated in a petition submitting protest requesting the state government to sanction 20% reservation for Vanniyar community members in education and government job opportunities in Pollachi.


Coimbatore: Pattali Makkal Katchi members along with members of the Vanniyar Union participated in a petition submitting protest requesting 20% reservation.



As a part of their 5th stage protest which is happening across districts and panchayats in Tamilnadu, Pattali Makkal Katchi members of South Coimbatore submitted a petition at the Panchayat Commissioner office in Pollachi.

Coimbatore South Secretary Vani Arumugam headed the protest. The demonstration started from the head telephone exchange office till the Pollachi Panchayat office.



Members who participated in the protest chanted slogans requesting 20% reservation for Vanniyar community members at government jobs and educational opportunities.

Ex- District Secretary Kannapan, Workers Union Secretary Murugesh and other party officials namely Thangavel, Dharmaraj, Sivakumar and Venkatesh participated in this demonstration.
