Roads slippery and filled potholes following heavy rains: Increased risk of accidents
Coimbatore: Areas in Coimbatore are getting good rains due to the monsoon. Coimbatore has been experiencing heavy mist and rains for the past one week. All private and government employees and students going by two wheelers are daily reaching office and institutions soaked in rain.
Roads in Telungupalayam, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar areas in Coimbatore are getting muddy due to lack of tar road and digging of pits for various reasons. People of the area suffer a lot to cross this road as the soil settlesup to their ankle. People in two-wheelers have slipped and fallen injuring themselves. Autos and ambulances refuse to come to the area for the sick and elderly.
The people of the area also said that it was very difficult for them to go to the hospital and shops. Even vehicles including ambulance auto could not come through in case of emergency. The public has therefore demanded that the corporation administration and the district administration take immediate action to rectify this
