Book Launch of ‘The Iron Man of Coimbatore’ held in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: The centenary celebration of Everest Late A Somasundaram was held at Hotel Raddisson Blu on January 3 wherein the family members brought out a book titled ‘The Iron Man of Coimbatore’.
Chinmaya Mission Bramahachari Vignesh Chaitanya, who was the guest of honour released the book which was received by CODISSIA former president A Kandasamy and other dignitaries.
In his address, Vignesh Chaitanya paid rich tributes to Somasundaram and his vast experience as an industrialist, who grew from a humble beginning to reach exalted heights in making Everest Engineering a name to reckon with.
P A Raju Chettiar Sons Jewelers' Rajesh Govindarajulu, CODISSIA former president A Kandasamy, PSG College of Technology mechanical engineering former HoD Dr V Ramachandran, Bharathiar University environmental science department head and ex-Registrar of Karpagam University Dr Lakshmana Perumalsamy, retired deputy director, MSME M Mylsamy, Premier Plate Fabrication managing director S M Sadhasivam and former PA to Somasundaram K Annamalaielaborated about punctuality and dedication to work with perfection.Annamalai also detailed about the accolades he received during his heydeys and the medals he obtained for his outstanding work.
Suryodayam Selvaraj (Suryam FM) spoke on the topic ‘Uzhaippu’ and detailed how nothing is equal to hardwork. Earlier, Dr. Mekala Sekar, who authored the book ‘Kovaiyin Irumbu Manithar’ (The Iron Man of Coimbatore) welcomed while Somasundaram’s grand daughter A Lakshmitha proposed a vote of thanks.
A photo presentation depicting the products manufactured at Everest Engineering was shownthrough LED at the event. Students from engineering and technology took part at the function and got benefited.
