85-year-old lady files a petition alleged harassment by grandson and daughter-in-law who snatched her house away


Coimbatore: An 85-year-old lady filed a petition at the district collector's office alleging that her daughter-in-law and grandson harassed her after abducting her house.



Periyammal (85) is the wife of Palaniappan from Vadavalli area of Coimbatore. She petitioned at the district collector's office that her grandson and daughter-in-law got her house and are now not even paying for her medical expenses. Periyammal later told reporters that she had been living with her son since her husband died many years ago. She also said that the house with 5 cents land was given to her grandson Gopalakrishnan in 2015.

Periyammal said that Gopalakrishnan along with his mother Kalaivani were harassing her by snatching her documents including Aadhar and ration card and are refusing to even pay for medical expenses. She said as she was now abandoned by her family the neighbours there were taking care of her by giving food. She requested the District Collector to take appropriate action and help her
