30 DMK members arrest shows Grama Sabha is a huge success; will protest in front of Police Commissioner office if wrongful arrests don’t stop - DMK MLA Karthik

Singanallur MLA Karthik in a press meet said that the DMK is condemning the police officials on arresting DMK party members based on false accusation.

Coimbatore: Singanallur MLA Karthik who is also the District Secretary of DMK in a statement said that the DMKis condemning the police officials on arresting DMK party members for sticking posters.

In his address MLA Karthik said that “DMK party chief MK Stalin has been rallying across Tamilnadu by conducting grama sabha meetings regarding the upcoming general elections and there was no potential reason for arresting DMK's Gandhipuram zone secretary Sethuraman along with 30 other party members by the Rathinapuri police department.”

He went on to say that “all these arrests show that DMK’s Grama Sabha is a huge success with the public. “

MLA Karthik said that “the DMK party strongly condems this arrest and that the police department has been making such arrests under the influence of Rural Development Minister SP Velumani and AIADMK.”

He also said that last month wall posters were stuck by AIADMK members which had demeaning quotes of DMK leader MK Stalin and even after continuous protest by the DMK members no action was taken by the police officials against the AIADMK members for sticking those wall posters.

MLA Karthik said that “when a youth was dead in Hope College area when a huge arch made by AIADMK members fell on him and in another incident a woman lost two legs when AIADMK party's flag pole fell on her near Singanallur. And even then the police took any action”

He also said that“Stalin gave his condolences to the woman and welfare schemes were given to her from DMK for an accident caused by AIADMK members.”

MLA Karthik said that “a vehicle which went to give welfare schemes killed a woman in the Karamadai constituency of Minister SP Velumani and her body was immediately evacuated from the spot and her autopsy was also hurried at the government hospital.”

He also mentioned a recent case where a youth named Poovarasan was electrocuted to death while he was fixing the AIADMK party pole. MLA Karthik said that multiple banners and posters were kept in Maskalipalayam for the opening of Amma mini clinic and he also said when asked about it the police officials did not have a reasonably correct answer for it. There are posters from the minister’s pet media companies putting out fabricated information all across the city and the police will not take action on them. But when DMK puts up posters the police cites a pandemic.”

MLA Karthik also said that “no proper investigation or arrests were made for all the accusations made above and that AIADMK government with the help of police and AIADMK members are continuously framing DMK party members and getting them arrested under false pretence.”

He warned the government to stop making such false arrests and if this continues then DMK members under my leadership will unite the public and will strike the Coimbatore Commissioner Office for making such flase arrests.
