30 DMK party members arrested for sticking posters allegedly violating ‘pandemic restrictions’

The police are further investigating about the incident.

Coimbatore: DMK party chief MK Stalin has been rallying across Tamilnadu and meeting with the public regarding the upcoming general elections.

As a part of DMK's rallying, the party has been conducting grama sabha meetings across different parts of Tamilnadu.

DMK has been listening to people's needs and complaints with the current government. The grama sabha meetings are also happening in and on the outskirts of Coimbatore.

Wall posters on an upcoming grama sabha meeting were stuck on the walls near Gandhipuram under the leadership of DMK's Gandhipuram zone secretary Serthuraman.

Rathinapuri police officials have arrested over 30 members of the DMK party for sticking wall posters saying they violate government's Covid-19 guidelines.

Speaking about this MLA Na Karthik said “when there are posters everywhere with SP Velumani’s face in the city from media portals and AIADMK people and when slandering posters where stuck against our leader MK Stalin, the police have not taken any action. But now seeing the popularity of the grama sabha meetings from the public they are doing this as political vendetta. Police are acting very favourably towards AIADMK only and is clearly visible with this action. “

The police said they are further investigating about the incident.
