Former MLA Dinakaran files a petition against the AIADMK leader for slandering Captain Vijayakanth.

Coimbatore: Former MLA Dinakaran has filed a petition with the Coimbatore SP seeking action against the AIADMK leader for slandering Captain Vijayakanth. More than 100 DMDK workers, led by former DMDK Sulur MLA Dhinakaran, today besieged the SP office carrying a party flag and filed a petition.

The petition said, "My name is Dinakaran and I have been serving the public well in the DMDK for 10 years. In the last assembly elections held in 2011, I was elected as an MLA in Sulur constituency and worked for the people. AIADMK spokesperson Selvaraj said in a seminar on Dina Thanthi TV on the 14th that our leader Vijayakanth will disappear from politics with this election who is affectionately called by the people as Captain.

He added in the petition that they strongly condemn this as it had caused a great distress to the DMDK volunteers. Therefore, they requested in the petition that legal action be taken against the AIADMK leader Selvaraj who spoke slanderously. There was a stir in the area when they besieged SP office to file the petition. Heavy police security was deployed in the area.
