Governments and eminent personalities who do not love nature are not worthy - Ponvannan speaks launching ' Kadar' Book in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Coimbatore: For the last 200 years forests have been turned into a hunting commodity, a cash commodity, by humans. Screenwriter Ponvannan addressed the public at a book launch event in Coimbatore today.

Writer and journalist, V. Prasanth has created a collection of short stories called "Kadar" about the life of indigenous peoples and wildlife. The launch of the book, which is being unveiled by Opposite Publishing House, was held at the Coimbatore Press Club today.

The event featured artist and screenwriter Ponvannan, ecological activists Kovai Sathasivam, Yoganathan and poet Umamakeshwari.

Earlier, Ponvannan had published the book "Kadar" and said, "Coimbatore is not new to me. Coimbatore is the identity for me. We are one of the billions of living creatures in this world. There are many living beings who we depend on and they depend on us just like we depend on them. But we differ from other living things in thought, action, and language development. "

I see the Kadar book as a book written with a complete understanding of the forest. The story begins as a group of men staring at an elephant, and eventually ends up being chained to the camp. The forest is the original symbol of nature. But over the past 200 years humans have turned the forest into a hunting ground and a source of money.

It is recorded in the Sangam literature that human life began in the forest. Forests are the first of five types of landforms recorded in our literature. It was in the cultivation of tea that the tendency to see the forest as money began. After the English period, the use of guns came to the estates. As a result, animals were killed and trapped in houses.

Later, they began to extract mineral resources from the mountains. Since then, the mountains have been fed for 200 consecutive years. I see 'Kadar' as a book written from the point of view of the tribal people. Government and personality that do not love nature are very bad. People in the city see the hill people as extraterrestrials. The book records the destruction of mountain people by a lack of humanity and vision, he said.

It is noteworthy that the Kadar Book Launch Ceremony was held, along with a concert by the tribal people.
