Police officials upon receiving a tip about a weed peddler in the Madukkarai Market went on a sudden raid yesterday.
Coimbatore: On receiving the tip, a team of policemen went on a raid at the Madukkarai bus stand under Inspector Murugesan andSpecial Sub Inspector James.
On seeing the police patrol a youth tried to take off from the market. Police later chased him and caught the youth who possessed weed with him.
On further investigation by the police, it was found that the man caught by the police was Balasubramanian (24) who was from Nallapalayam, Ganapathy. On further investigation it was also found that Balasubramanian was a weed dealer who was selling weed in the Madukkarai area.
Later police arrested Balasubramanian for selling weed and seized the 100 g of weed he had with him.
