Coimbatore: Minister SP Velumani inaugurated the Amma Mini Clinic in 3rd street, Gandhipuram.



The event was presided over by District Collector K. Rajamani and Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian. Coimbatore South MLA Amman K. Arjunan addressed the gathering. Minsiter SP Velumani said, "Bridges are being built in Coimbatore to ease traffic congestion. 5 Government Colleges have been opened and are functioning in Coimbatore District. The highest number of houses in India has been built in the Coimbatore district under the Housing for All program.

The Chief Minister's Amma Mini Clinic has been launched by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on 14.12.2020 in Chennai and on 16.12.2020 in Salem District. These Amma mini clinics have been started in order to reduce the inconvenience, cost and time of treatment for the poor people living in rural and urban areas. These mini clinics are used to treat diseases such as the common cold and infections. These Amma mini clinics are set up in places where there is no primary health center where the poor people live. 70 mini clinics have been set up in Coimbatore district alone. Of these, 5 are mobile clinics.

In the first phase, 7 mini clinics will be opened in urban areas and 30 mini clinics in rural areas. At present Amma Mini Clinics have been opened and are functioning in the Corporation areas and in the rural areas. Amma Mini Clinic will have a doctor, a nurse and hospital staff. On all days except Saturday, Amma Mini Clinics are open in rural and municipal areas from 8 am to 12 noon and in the evening from 4 pm to 7 pm. In corporations and municipalities, it will run for an additional hour, ie until 8 pm. Thus it will be useful for poor people to go before or after home from work.

Medicine will be given immediately after the consultation at the Amma mini clinic. Treatment for all ailments related to diseases such as infectious diseases and treatment for smallpox ‌and cold flu, treatment for diarrhea, vomiting, general treatment for pregnant women, women, children, and treatments for the elderly. Pills for diabetes and blood pressure can be obtained here. Similarly, there are tests for blood sugar, blood tests, such as anemia, tests for sugar and albumin in the urine, and tests for pregnancy through urine and for fever, colds, diarrhea, vomiting, and minor injuries. Also infectious diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure pills will be given in adequate doses immediately.
