Voter ID cards issued for 22 people with the same door number in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: A special camp was held in Coimbatore district for two days last November and on last 12th and 13th at all the polling booths to change of name, address and to remove the name from the voter list. One lakh 70 thousand applications were received. Verification of documents and addresses in these applications is in progress. It is said that 22 voter ID cards have been issued based on door number 5/20 in Ashok Nagar, 5th ward, Vellalore area.
This has come as a shock to the people of the area. A district election official said it was "impossible" to have 22 voters with the same door number hence they were investigating this. He said something may have gone wrong while uploading the applications.
