New organization representing 143 backward communities launched in Tamil Nadu

New Dalit organization with 143 communities launched in Tamil Nadu.

Coimbatore: A New dalit organization with 143 communities launched in Tamil Nadu. 143 backward communities have formed an organisation to ensure the reservation and protection of the backward classes.

Former police officers, former government officials, lawyers and community leaders have co-founded this coalition for the rights of the Backward Castes (Pirpaduthapattor Urimaikkaana Koottamaippu).

The press conference was held today atCoimbatore Race Course. Rathinasabapathy, a member of the organisation and a former police officer at the time, said that "143 communities in Tamil Nadu were of backward classes and that backward communities were losing their rights. So far no organization has given a voice to regain the lost rights and said the system was created because the youth and students would lose their rights as they were from backward castes. The organization was completely non-political and that it would be the only voice of the 143 communities and would work without any differences of opinion."

He said "many communities needed safety and assurance beyond reservation and the organization had no chance of becoming a political party. The first meeting of all the backward classes is to be held on the 18th in Coimbatore to create awareness among the youth and students."
